BH9009 Total Organic Carbon Online Analyzer

1. Introduction

Total Organic Carbon Online Analyzer (TOC) is based on the catalytic oxidation combustion method and non-dispersive infrared detection technology, the oxidation efficiency is close to 100%, the measurement time is less than 5 minutes, the unique multi-pass valve sampling quantitative technology, greatly improve the measurement accuracy and repeatability, can selectively measure total carbon, total organic carbon, total inorganic carbon, is a reliable operation, low maintenance, simple operation on-line analysis instrument.

1.1 Features

  • Multi-pass valve sampling quantitative technology, and the sampling accuracy can be controlled at 1uL with CTFE valve. It has the strong corrosion resistance.
  • Catalytic oxidation combustion technology, the oxidation efficiency is close to 100%,  and it can freeze the water and remove it, besides it, it can improve CO2 detection accuracy;
  • Non-dispersive infrared detection technology, good anti-jamming performance measurement time less than 5 minutes, low operating cost;
  • Self-diagnosis, self-calibration function, long unattended time strong anti-interference ability, very low failure rate.

1.2 Main Uses and Scope of Application

 Suitable for surface water, pollution source discharge monitoring; tap water, sewage treatment process monitoring; circulating water, condensate water and other industrial water monitoring; and water organic matter load monitoring.

2. Operating principle

Total organic carbon (TOC) is an important index to evaluate the degree of organic pollution in water bodies. It represents that the measurement of total TOC of organic matter in water bodies has been widely used in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ocean monitoring and other aspects. There is a good correlation between TOC and COD.
TOC is measured by oxidizing organic matter in water into CO2, and then measuring the amount of CO2 generated.
The water sample to be tested was oxidized with acid to remove inorganic carbon, and then quantitatively added to the combustion furnace. The CO2 produced by organic carbon combustion in the water sample was sent to the NDIR detector after water removal to measure the total CO2, thus obtaining the TOC concentration in the water sample.
