Start heating: Press “Start”button to trigger heating process. The reactor will beep once the setting temperature is reached. Then, put the test tube into heater block hole, the timer will start to count down the setting period. The “Balance time” shows on the screen. After the “Balance time” become “0”. A beep will be heard and the heating element will turn off. It means the heating process is finished.

Thermostats are devices that directly or indirectly control one or more heat and cold sources to maintain the desired temperature. To achieve this function, the thermostat must have a sensitive component and a transducer that measures the change in temperature and produces the desired effect on the converter. The converter converts the action from the sensitive component into a function that can properly control the temperature changing device.

COD: In environmental chemistry, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) is an indicative measure of the amount of oxygen that can be consumed by reactions in a measured solution. It is commonly expressed in mass of oxygen consumed over volume of solution which in SI units is milligrams per liter (mg/L). A COD test can be used to easily quantify the amount of organics in water.
